two months old

it seems like we've really turned a corner. virginia is much less fussy than she was even a week ago and it seems like it happened overnight. i'm not sure if it's because she has matured a bit or because we're getting better at knowing what she needs (probably a little of both). but things have become more fun. her vision has improved and she spends a lot of time looking around at things and batting at the dangling toys on her mat. she still loves bath time, as well as cooing and smiling at us and (much more frequently) at her black & white "friends" at the changing table!

dad arrived yesterday and we've been having a great time. we went for a bike ride today which was fun. virginia is very curious about her grandpa as these photos illustrate.

more bath time photos

virginia just loves bath time. she becomes very attentive and calm during and after her bath. i'm always tempted to take photos because she seems so happy and looks so cute. yesterday she was very active after her bath and massage: she kept twisting her body from side to side and exercising her arms a lot. she also smiled and gurgled quite a few times. she had a little "tummy time" as well, though she does not enjoy it for very long.

six weeks old!

time is flying by! we cannot believe that virginia is six weeks old already. she is growing up so fast and is starting to outgrow some clothes, which seemed unimaginable a few weeks ago, when she seemed so tiny.

she is a wonderful little girl and we just adore her.

virginia was so happy and alert after her bath this evening that we had to take some photos.

she also gave us her first definitive coo and both greg and i were totally ecstatic!
