well, we are doing much better now. the bed rest seems to have done the trick. i feel great. the contractions have stopped and the midwife said that i can begin incorporating my usual activities into my life. basically, i'm starting slow to see if anything causes a problem. but i really don't think it will. the most important thing is that i now know what feels normal and what doesn't, which isn't always easy during pregnancy, since you regularly seem to encounter new & sometimes bizarre sensations.
while we were in the hospital, we had some more ultrasound pictures taken. our baby always seems to have her hands near her face. (which is also how i sleep.) and this time, she had her feet there too! (that i can't do.) the technician said that she was playing with her foot as if it were a little toy. it was just so cute, i thought i'd put it up here:

That is adorable! Your ultrasound pictures are awesome. The few they gave me all look kind of alien. There is also a close up of what the technician called "the boy part" which made us laugh.
